AIG PUBLIC LEADERS PROGRAMME ALUMNI IMPACT STORY

PLP candidates carry out a capstone project in their organisations, using learnings they have gained from the programme. Ngozi’s project titled “Improving Organisational Effectiveness In the SERVICOM Office”, sought to do two things; promote organizational effectiveness through effective communication and reporting and promote integrity throughout the organisation.

She worked with the management of her organisation to develop reporting guidelines that will help assess their performance as an organisation while ensuring that MDAs also improve their operational efficiency by designing their services around their stakeholders’ requirements and expectations.

“The second part of my project was promoting organisational integrity. I have received approval to develop a Service Charter for the SERVICOM Office; once the Charter is finalised, it will be launched and uploaded on my organisation’s website.  Additionally, MDAs who have not developed their Service Charters will be guided on how to do so. I believe this is practising what we preach, promoting organisational integrity, in line with my learnings from the AIGPublic Leaders Programme”.

Ngozi’s expectation with her project is that it will promote impactful reporting from internal and external stakeholders that project the strategic objectives of SERVICOM and supports a strategy for driving service excellence through result-based performance monitoring and reporting.

The programme gave Ngozi the opportunity to learn from industry leaders from across the world who have gone through similar challenges in their career, she uses their teachings to assist her with building her team and making decisions that are devoid of bias.

“The AIG Leaders Programme has impacted my overall work output because it has made me think strategically when prioritising and performing my tasks. I now constantly ensure that all the output from my team and me is in line with the objectives of my organisation’’.
